i just returned from a photo comp in Aqaba, Jordan. no, I didn’t win (or even place) but it was an experience that I will forever be thankful for. i’m so grateful for time with friends and seeing a part of this planet that is completely new to me.

i grew up reading old copies of DIVER magazine out of Vancouver, so it’s pretty special to have the cover of the Fall 2022 issue. this image of Becky Schott was taken during an expedition to dive frozen moulins in the Matanuska glacier in Alaska.

meeting random people on distant journeys is one of the many positive experiences of travel. i met Alison in the wild and remote islands of Isle Royale National Park where she was solo hiking. she manages an active blog, blissful hiker, describing her travels around the world. we collaborated on a brief write up for her blog here.
